I went to a Whataburger in El Paso, Texas and was left the worst taste in my mouth (literally) and nearly swore them off altogether. While driving through Tuscaloosa on my way to New Orleans I decided to stop off and grab something to eat. I saw this location and made the decision to give them one more try. I'm happy I did. To think that the Whataburger in Alabama would be better than in Texas is insane to me...but it's also true. Large and clean inside and the employees I spoke to were all helpful and friendly. I got a double cheeseburger meal with fries and a drink and got the regular ketchup as well as their spicy ketchup for the fries. The first thoughts from the burger was that it was heavy on mustard. I personally enjoy mustard so that wasn't a big deal for me but if you don't...order it lite or on the side. I ended up dipping both the burger and the fries in the spicy ketchup by the end of it. I enjoyed the flavor of the spicy ketchup a lot but depending on your tolerance, you may not find it very spicy. I found it to have zero heat personally. The fries were crispy and tasty, definitely salted but not to the point that it was too much. They also had zero sugar lemonade and unsweetened iced tea so I was able to make a no sugar Arnold Palmer and that made me happy. I'd stop here again for sure. THIS Whataburger location - Didn't Suck!

Whataburger Woes on Skyland Blvd One would think that a visit to Whataburger should be an uneventful affair, a straightforward transaction of calories and grease, served with a side of Southern charm. But what I experienced at the Whataburger on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa was more akin to a tragicomedy with an extra large order of fries. As I approached the counter, a sullen young man was stationed there, exuding all the enthusiasm of a traffic cone. He mumbled, though it sounded more like a ritualistic chant one might hear at a hastily convened séance. Not wanting to break the spell, I placed my order and took my seat, clutching my number like a talisman against fast food mishaps. Twenty minutes crawled by. I observed our morose oracle, moving with glacial indifference, delivering food to tables like a harbinger of delayed gratification. And then, it happened. The Grim Reaper of Fast Food Orders approached the table behind us, bearing the long-awaited sustenance. Except, dear reader, it was MY order!! The patrons at the neighboring table received MY food with the casual acceptance of accidental beneficiaries in a bureaucratic lottery. Meanwhile, my stomach churned with the bitterness of unfulfilled cravings and cold anticipation. It took the fog of realization some time to lift: my food, now cold and disheveled, was stranded on the wrong table. My number, as visible as a lighthouse in a foggy sea, had been ignored. At that moment, the allure of Whataburger evaporated like the steam from my once-hot meal. With a heavy heart and an empty stomach, I left Whataburger, yearning for a place where orders are more than just a suggestion and service comes with a smile—or at least with a semblance of acknowledgment. If you were to find yourself in this culinary misadventure, I'm sure you’d agree: some places are best left to the imagination, or better yet, avoided altogether.

This place used to be really good but today was beyond disappointing. I waited about 45 minutes for my order to come out because they forgot my order, which is somewhat understandable since the restaurant was packed, but I was not happy with the fact that they didn't give an ounce of apology. Instead, I was told to either stand and wait or sit at my table for my order to come out. If that wasn't bad enough I noticed weird black substance smeared on the side of my bun halfway through eating :( I don't think I'll be coming back to this location again.
