Jack in the Box

This Jack in the box is in a very rough part of town. The store was full of handicapped or homeless customers. Lots of people hanging around outside. Hoping for food to be given to them. Long line of customers. One fellow behind the counter was working so hard to handle taking orders then filling the orders. Definitely low on help. We got our order and took it out. Didn't want to take a table away from somebody who needed it more than we did.

It's sad that this is the ONLY fast food left near the harbor since the closing of Horton Plaza. The nearest fast food is near City College or Hillcrest. And that the management of this place could care less about the regular customers. This place is always so overrun by homeless people hanging out, half the time there's no seating. And part of that is because they close off half of the dining room. Which I would rather sit there, because it's booths. When you do find an open table, it's filthy!!! This time on my visit, I asked for the Padres Deal. Which is ... If you purchase a large drink you get a free Jumbo Jack. The girl at the counter says, "oh we don't offer that anymore". Interestingly, baseball is still playing, the Padres are still playing, in fact may be going to the world series, and she says they stopped the special. I didn't argue about it. However, I go to the Mission Valley location and they're still offering it. Several months back I was using the restroom, I had just got in and just sat down when someone banged loudly on the door and yelled "get out of there, you've been in there over 20 minutes"! Turns out that was the manager. Again, it's a sad thing this place is so poorly managed. The only fast food, next to several tourist attractions. Seaport Village, Star of India, the harbor. Get a security guard, that would help a lot!! Someone stays more than 20 minutes past finishing their meal, run them out! Someone caught destroying the property, call the police! Please straighten this place up! And make the management knowledgeable of specials. I don't want to stop going to this place since it's a few minutes walk from where I live.
