I grew up watching happy days & it had always been a long time wish to get an opportunity to dine at an old time American dinner. A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to stumble across Mel's Drive+In whilst holidaying in San Francisco which I found to be a pleasant & memorable experience. You could say a tick off the bucket list moment. My mates & I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service & particularly the unchanged decor. This experience has brought back childhood memories. The food servings were large & reasonably priced. I highly recommend Mel's drive-In to anyone traveling through San Francisco & would like to experience an old time diner.

I had breakfast here on Thanksgiving Day, and it was an experience I won’t forget! While the prices are on the higher side, they are absolutely worth it. The staff was incredible—fabulous, friendly, fast, and efficient, making me feel welcome and well cared for from the moment I arrived. The food was outstanding, well-prepared, and very tasty. I enjoyed every single bite and left feeling completely satisfied.

The food was extremely extremely salty, like they dropped a salt shaker in it and then tried to cover it up with sauce. The waiter was also nowhere. took around 46 minutes to get our food. Had high expectations, definitely won't return.
