Steak ’n Shake

About 3 years ago I went through drive through. The window area was disgusting with food on the walls that had been there long enough to mold, so I hadn't been back. I recently found out they have switched to beef tallow to fry with and decided to try them again. I had a triple burger and large fries dining in. The burger was excellent, though I'd imagine if you got one to go by the time you got home, the bottom bun would be mush, very juicy. The fries were actually large, much larger than most places large. The fries were crispy and less greasy than when fried in various vegetable oils, probably due to a higher fry temperature, i suspect. They're definitely my new favorite French fries, better than McDonald's. The place was fairly clean and service was quick, though it was not very busy. The only downside I found was having to order by kiosk. So, my wife and I are trying to figure out ordering for two on one order. While we were obviously having a little difficulty with this you'd think the employee standing idly at the counter would offer assistance but I guess not. When you get to the end of the order it asks for a tip. When you're forced to use self-checkout at Wally world, do you tip? Me neither, where's my dang W-2?

Food was good just like it always is here. The rates are a lot better than most fast food style places and the service was nice. However, the place definitely needs a facelift. Most Steak 'n Shakes are like that..... Just outdated but their shakes and malts are always on point. I'll take one of these over a McDonald's any day.

Ordered two shakes through the drive through. Both weren't what we ordered and asked for the correct ones. The manager at that time came to the window and very rudely said she heard the order and it was what they had given to us . I can see a mix up with one , but not both. Refused to give us the correct order. I visit the about twice a week. Can tell you that they have lost mine and my family's business. Will not ever go there again. Ms. Manager you need to take a class in customer service. Very very RUDE...
