Apple Bites - Halal Rice Dishes and Tacos

Love this place! We have had most of the menu at this point and it never disappoints! It is a food truck parked in the parking lot of a gas station, you have to go into the gas station to place your order and pay, I was confused about that the first time I went, but I also have no sense of direction and get confused easily lol..... Last time we went I had chicken tacos and a side of french fries, both were delicious! Chicken tacos are super flavorful, the chicken is seasoned and cooked perfectly, plenty of toppings, but the best of all is the sauce they put on it! 🤤 I'd eat anything it was put on 🤤 French fries were exceptionally good in my opinion. I love some crispy fries, and they are very crispy and perfectly seasoned. On previous visits we've also had the lamb and rice platter And the chicken and rice platter, both were delicious! The lamb was cooked perfectly, very well seasoned and not gamey at all like lamb can be sometimes. The rice platters come with a white sauce, not exactly sure what it is but it's also delicious and I would eat anything that was put on as well.... All in all I love this place and highly recommend! Some could be nervous about it's, kind of, sketchy foot traffic that comes thru that area, but don't worry about that, the food is worth it! Edit: I came here for lunch today, first time in a few weeks and they now serve breakfast! I have not had it yet but I am excited to!

I came to know about this restaurant from random eateries with my cousin and often come here whenever we visit my uncle’s place. I’m blown away by their tacos! It’s so good! Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s tired of the pretentious “Authentic” tacos in nyc.

Visiting Apple Bites, a Hala and taco truck restaurant, located in an unassuming area, was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The adventure began as I pulled into the lot and ordered inside a gas station, selecting an ice-cold beverage from the fridge. This unusual setting set the stage for what was to come. Taking my ticket to the truck, I peeked inside and was astounded. Despite its humble exterior, the truck boasted a full kitchen that could rival those of Michelin Star chefs. Every inch was spotless, with gleaming stainless steel reminiscent of sunlight reflecting off the waves in Cape Cod. The most remarkable part of the experience was witnessing the chef at work. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but his precision and artistry were akin to a brain surgeon delicately performing a life-changing operation. Watching him slice the pita bread and tuck it atop a steaming plate of rice and lamb gyro was pure poetry. His dedication to perfection was evident when he even cleaned the top of the interior of the plastic container, ensuring every detail was flawless. The food was indescribably good—easily the best lamb over rice I've had north of the Hudson Valley. The chef's attention to detail shone through in every bite, especially in the perfectly prepared cucumber, with its skin and seeds meticulously removed. This thoughtful touch nearly brought tears to my eyes. The chef at Apple Bites truly deserves more than a food truck next to a gas station in central New York. I dream of the day when I'll wander the streets of New York and find a chain of Apple Bites, receiving the recognition it so rightfully deserves. This experience was a beautiful symphony, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
