It looks like a dive, and you can quickly pass it - but it was so worth the stop. Great chicken sandwich - filling! It was fun to learn more about what they do and how they are sustainable etc. And of course I loved the sweet tea!

The BEST chicken sandwich in the world!!! No exaggeration, this little restaurant is a GEM! Staff is friendly, dining area is clean, and the food is AMAZING. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the Chicken sandwich will make you believe the chickens volunteered to be turned into the most delicious chicken sandwich ever!!! Best life decision you will make for lunch, dinner, or just because.

Moving to Charleston and my former company gave me a few gift cards for places to eat here and I decided to try Boxcar Betty’s today and I was not disappointed! This sandwich is delicious! I had the Boxcar Sandwich meal. The Fried chicken with Pimiento Cheese, Peach Slaw, House Pickles, and Spicy Mayo. The combination of flavors is amazing. The sweetness of the peach slaw couples with the spicy mayo was fire! The house made pickles were good and I’m not a pickle fan. Listen, if my wife was literally starving and asked for a bite, I’d assure her I’ll do my best with the kids, tell her she had a good run, and shove the rest of the sandwich in my mouth. Great food, fair pricing, and cool vibe. I’m a burger guy and I was tempted to try one of their burgers, but decided when in a chicken place to do what is morally and ethically right. I’m looking forward to my next visit here to try the next sandwich on the menu.
