Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken

My first job ever was at a Lee’s Famous Recipe in Hazard, KY. I came to town to do a couple guest spots at some local tattoo shops, & when I saw there was a Lee’s I knew I had to come get some food! I live in Colorado now & there are no Lee’s’ out west. Even after having worked there for 2 years & eating there religiously, this was the best Lee’s I’ve ever had! Everything was super fresh, the employees were so nice & welcoming, & everything was clean! The only downside was that they didn’t have their roasted chicken, I’m not sure if it’s location specific or if all Lee’s have gotten rid of it, back in the day (2009) they had three choices, Famous, Krispy, & Roasted, I’m pretty sure they did away with the Krispy as well, but regardless, the chicken was delicious! A lot of people I’ve talked to have said that they don’t come to Lee’s because the interior is outdated, and while I guess I can agree that they definitely deserve a revamp on their interior designing, that’s part of what I love about coming there! It was like stepping into a time machine back to ‘09, I dig it! Thank you guys for the hospitality & delicious food!!! 🖤

The chicken is so juicy and tender! Doesn’t even need sauce on it. But if you do, the bonsai sauce is where it’s at. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Delicious!

- food was good for what I could eat. Was passing through and decided to stop here and grab a bite but after getting back on the road I didn't see any utensils to eat my sides with and also no napkins. But what I could eat was good. - prices are normal for the area. - staff were friendly. - service was quick. - not bad but wish I could have eaten all the food I bought.
